Each Mind Matters [web resource]

EachMindMatters125Every day, millions of people face stigma related to mental health because they or their loved ones are facing a challenge. Many of these people feel isolated and alone, going years before receiving any help.

The goal of California’s mental health movement, Each Mind Matters, is to amplify the voices of all people who want to put an end to this stigma, creating a community where everyone feels comfortable reaching out for the support they deserve.

Each Mind Matters initiatives include:

Know the Signs — Pain isn’t always obvious. Know the Signs is a suicide awareness and prevention campaign. This campaign is also available in Spanish — Reconozca Las Señales.

Walk in Our Shoes — Are you curious about what it’s like to be in someone else’s shoes? Walk in Our Shoes is an innovative educational program for kids (ages 9–13), teachers, and parents to learn about mental wellness from the real stories of kids, teens, and young adults. See the Spanish language version, Ponte en Mis Zapatos.

Directing Change — Open to students in grades 7-12th and youth between the ages 14 and 25, Directing Change is a film competition with the goal of educating young people about critical health topics and promoting social justice by changing conversations in schools and communities.
