RISE: A Comprehensive DBT Intensive Outpatient Program for Teens (ages 13-18)

RISE can help prevent teens who have suicidal thoughts/behaviors, have recently attempted suicide, and/or repetitively engage in self-harm behaviors from being inpatient hospitalization or ending up in the emergency room. During the evaluation, our clinical team can help to determine whether RISE would be an appropriate alternative. In most cases, our care team can let your family know within 24 hours if RISE seems like the right fit for your teen.
- Comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), including
- Individual and group therapy
- Multi-family skills groups to help foster positive family relationships
- 24/7 phone coaching for teens
- Small group setting
- Longer program duration, increasing likelihood of desired outcomes
- Seasoned, licensed clinicians who specialize in working with teens
- Adolescent psychiatry and medication management
- Support with transitions between IOP, inpatient and outpatient therapy
- Coordination with outside mental health providers, school staff and appropriate medical professionals
- Insurance-based. Medi-Cal Insurance not accepted at this time
- Financial assistance available
- High school credits possible

Who Can Benefit
Adolescents ages 13-18 with:
- Suicidal thoughts and/or behaviors
- Self-harm behaviors (e.g., cutting)
- Significant decrease in functioning at school and/or at home
- Severe symptoms of anxiety and/or depression
- Significant difficulty regulating emotions
Goals of the RISE Program
RISE stands for Reaching Interpersonal and Self Effectiveness — one of the primary goals of DBT and a cornerstone of the program.
- Reduce suicidal thoughts and behaviors
- Reduce self-harm behaviors (e.g., cutting)
- Improve ability to regulate emotions and cope with stress
- Improve important areas of life such as school, home, friendships and family relationships
- Reduce the need for higher level of care
- Help teens build a life worth living
The group meets for the 12-week program 4 days per week: M, T, W, Th from 3:00 pm to 6:15 pm

Includes mindfulness experiences, Executive Functioning coaching and interpersonal skills development
Tuesday & Thursday
Includes mindfulness movement and arts and family skills development with parents
