Girlshealth.gov is committed to empowering girls to create strong, positive relationships and happy, healthy futures by providing girls reliable, useful information on health and well-being.

Key sections of the site

  • Body: Do you have questions about your changing body? About your first period? About taking care of your skin? About having romantic feelings for someone?
  • Fitness:  Want to look and feel your best? Physical activity can help with that — and more. Being active can boost sleep, build self-esteem, and bust stress.
  • Nutrition:  Would you like to have more energy, stronger bones, healthier skin, and much more? Eating well may be easier than you think! In our nutrition information section you can learn how to eat healthy food that tastes good and doesn’t cost a fortune.
  • Illness & Disability:  If you have an illness or disability, you know that taking care of your needs can be hard sometimes. But you can learn about the skills and support you will need to live well with a disability or chronic illness. This section of girlshealth.gov offers lots of helpful tips.

  • Your Future: Whether you are interested in art, computers, medicine, or countless other possibilities, planning for your future is an ongoing process. This section provides resources to help you make plans for a terrific future.
  • Environmental health: There are many things in the environment that are good for you, such as clean water and air, vitamin D that comes from the sun, and healthy foods. But there are also some hazards in the environment that can hurt you. By learning about hazards in your environment, you can take charge of your health and help clean up the earth at the same time.
