March 2 Coronavirus Update
Dear Parents, Clients and Friends of CHC,
As you are no doubt aware, several cases of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID‐19) were diagnosed in Santa Clara County this weekend. Global circumstances suggest and experts recommend preparing for more widespread transmission.
As always, the health and safety of your child and family is our primary concern.
CHC has formed an Emergency Response Team that is actively monitoring the CDC and Santa Clara Public Health Department on an ongoing basis, carefully implementing their recommended best practices regarding preparedness and precautions on our campuses.
BASICS
Our schools and clinics will remain open.
We will provide individual sanitation supply packages in our lobbies.
Our maintenance staff will be vigilant about wiping down public surfaces.
CDC GUIDELINES
We strongly recommend that you follow the protocols published by the Centers for Disease Control. These basic guidelines are important actions we can take to protect ourselves and others from getting and spreading both the flu and Coronavirus. Good hand hygiene appears to be our best line of defense at this time. Wash your hands. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. The CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear face masks.
SCHOOLS
Our schools will remain open. Again, we ask that you follow the CDC guidelines about staying home when sick.
CLINICAL SERVICES
If you are not able to come to a CHC location for clinical services, you may be able to access CHC’s telehealth services. As appropriate, our clinicians are able to conduct psychotherapy and some other services via confidential telehealth (video or telephonic conferencing). Please speak directly with your provider about whether telehealth services are appropriate for your child/family. For more information about telehealth services or if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact our Care Team at careteam@stage.chconline.org.
A CAUTION
In an abundance of caution and for the safety and well-being of you, your family, our staff and the community, if you come to a CHC campus and appear to have symptoms of respiratory illness, we will kindly ask that you return home and take care of yourself.
It is our sincere hope to provide support and education and instill a sense of calm and preparedness in the face of the rapidly changing developments related to the Coronavirus. As always, CHC will continue to do our very best to be a trusted community resource.
Best wishes to all,
Dr. Rosalie Whitlock and The Executive Team at CHC
