Comcast’s Internet Essentials Helps Connect Low-Income Families to the Internet

Comcast’s Internet Essentials helps connect low-income families to the internet at home.   New Internet Essentials customers will receive two free months of Internet service, which is available to all qualified low-income households for $9.95 per month plus tax.

Low-Cost Internet

You may qualify if you are eligible for public assistance programs such as the National School Lunch Program, Housing Assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, SSI, and others.  This program is not available to existing Xfinity Internet customers or to customers who has subscribed to Xfinity Internet in the last 90 days.

Applications must be submitted by April 30, 2020. If approved, you could have a home Internet connection in 5-7 business days. Internet Essentials customers also have the option to purchase a laptop or desktop computer at a discounted price, currently $149.99 plus tax.

Free Hotspots

As part of Comcast’s COVID-19 response, Xfinity WiFi hotspots across the country will be available to anyone who needs them for free – including non-Xfinity Internet subscribers. For a map of Xfinity WiFi hotspots, visit www.xfinity.com/wifi. Once at a hotspot, consumers should select the “xfinitywifi” network name in the list of available hotspots, and then launch a browser.
