Has your child has been formally assessed for learning disabilities and or ADHD, by either a psychoeducational or neuropsychological evaluation? If so, understanding the report is critical to your ability to become the best advocate for their needs.

Psychologists write these reports for parents, teachers, and even the students themselves, in the hopes that the information will be helpful in understanding how the student learns and what strengths can be accessed to circumvent any processing deficits. The testing results drive the determination of eligibility for special education support and services.

In this Parents Helping Parents webinar, Dr. Mark Westerfied, Psy.D., staff psychologist at Morrissey Compton Educational Center helps parents:

  • Understand the basic structure of psychoeducational assessment reports
  • Learn how to interpret standard scores, scaled scores, and percentiles
  • Know some common tests and what they look like
  • Convert recommendations into effective interventions
