Paula Shames
Level II OT Fieldwork Intern
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Paula moved back to her home state in 2019 to pursue her MSOT at SJSU after living in Austin, TX for over 20 years. Paula has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from UT Austin and a Bachelors in Psychology from UCSD. Having worked with children and adolescents in a variety of mental health settings while also teaching yoga for many years, Paula found Occupational Therapy to be a perfect blend of her past experiences and passions. She has interned in a school setting with children with moderate to severe autism. She is very excited to have her Level 2 fieldwork experience at CHC to gain knowledge and experience from their multidisciplinary team. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her 13-year-old puppy, biking, yoga, swimming and walking on the beach.
