Lifon Huynh-Leresche

Lifon has been an educator for over 15 years working with bilingual learners in Taipei & California, as well as Special Needs students in NYC and California. Aside from the classroom, Lifon is a field hockey coach.

She uses a team mentality approach to teaching to create collaboration in the classroom and accountability to the self as well as the team. She believes in small group work, independent study work and whole group work. These practices can foster development for all kinds of social learners and hopefully give tools and skills in different forms for all to become comfortable working together towards a goal. Lifon fosters a room of learning with patience but also has expectations for the students to follow through on. She will challenge the students and give them praise to help bolster their skill acquisition. Being a visual & tactile learner herself, she incorporates both pieces into her lessons as well as the auditory piece to improve the areas for students to be well-rounded learners.

Lifon is also called by the alias Leaf, a nickname that has followed her since grade school. She is originally from the Hudson Valley region of NY where her parents and brothers still reside. She has 3 adopted brothers as well as biological brothers. Just ask how many brothers she grew up with!! And being the youngest was not the easiest. She loves shopping on Amazon, surfing, golfing, playing field hockey and staying active. And she has been known to participate in a few eating contests!

She has a loving baby boy, (J.P.) and husband (Doug).
