Katie has been working with children, teens and their families for the past 10 years. She obtained her Bachelors in Psychology from Indiana University and her Masters of Clinical Psychology with a specialization in counseling with children and families at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Prior to moving to California, Katie worked in community mental health in Chicago, IL as a crisis and outpatient therapist for youth, families and adults. Katie also worked for 5 years providing ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy for children and teens, both in-home and school, along with parent coaching for various emotional and behavioral challenges. And prior to joining the team at CHC, Katie was working for a non-profit organization in Oakland, CA to assist in managing the school counseling program across 12 different schools in the Bay area and providing individual and group therapy for children and teens, both in the clinic and school setting.

Katie works from a strength-based approach seeing that children, teens and families have resilience and a range of positive qualities and skills that are being used to navigate each day and can be used and built on in therapy. Katie will use a variety of therapy modalities along with the commitment to provide a safe, comfortable and judgement free space to allow children, youth and their families to feel supported in their therapy process.
