Substitute Teacher

I believe that every child is amazing, intelligent and capable. When children are given opportunities to access new information in their learning style, in a safe and nurturing environment, they thrive in all areas of their lives. As a child, it was very difficult for me to learn because students were expected to conform to one linear teaching method; I especially struggled in mathematics. I graduated high school feeling broken. Fortunately, at a community college, I had wonderful teachers who catered to my learning style. I went though a complete transformation, which changed my life forever, when I discovered that I could be successful in mathematics. I became a special education teacher to help students discover mathematics, and other subjects, in their best-fit learning style. Mathematics isn’t just for some perceived elite group of thinkers; anyone can experience great success in mathematics.
