Wilson® Literacy Courses
Wilson Reading System® (WRS) is specifically designed for students who have a language-based learning disability, such as dyslexia. Participate in these specialized courses to learn effective strategies to teach struggling kids in your classroom.
Introductory Course
Online
3-day course (16.5 hours)
Online – August 4-6, 2020
This online workshop provides an introduction to the Wilson Reading System curriculum and is a prerequisite for all other Wilson professional learning and certification. Participants in the Intro course will be eligible to sign up for WRS Level I Certification during the 2020-2021 school year.
Cost: 3 days – $650 per person

12-month course and practicum

The WRS Level I Certification course is designed to prepare teachers to effectively implement WRS Steps 1-6 with students who are reading and spelling below grade level, as well as those diagnosed with a language-based learning disability, such as dyslexia. Prerequisites: WRS Introductory Course completed within the past five years and Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
Cost: 1 year – $2300 per person

Group Instruction Course
3-day course (15 hours)

This course provides strategies to improve all aspects of WRS group instruction through hands-on practice and discussion, and prepares participants for the WRS Group Mastery Practicum. Prerequisites: WRS Level I Certification and Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
