The CHC SteelMike Shootout Scores Again

CHC SteelMike Shootout 2024 breaks records and supports adolescents

On Sunday, August 25, more than 450 community members, basketball players, and fans came together at Menlo School in Atherton for the CHC SteelMike Shootout Basketball Tournament and Block Party. This annual event achieved a record-breaking milestone, raising over $300,000 for The Michael Harris Fund at CHC, which supports adolescent mental health. The incredible success was made possible through individual sponsorships, a generous anonymous donor’s matching opportunity, an exciting online auction, and a lively raffle.

The CHC SteelMike Shootout is a fundraiser honoring the life of Michael Harris. Michael was a young professional passionate about improving the mental health of adolescents, who also loved basketball and played locally at Menlo School. After Michael’s passing, his family established a fund to support adolescents facing mental health challenges, honoring his intention to pursue a career in adolescent psychology.

This year, a record-breaking 54 teams registered for the event, resulting in some fierce competition. Thank you to all the players who came to the event, and congratulations to our winners!
