A Message from Our CEO

A Message from Our CEO

When the US Surgeon General Vivek H. Murthy issued an advisory on the dire state of youth mental health, he also delivered a forthright message, “The future wellbeing of our country depends on how we support and invest in the next generation.” This is the reason why I am deeply proud and honored to be leading CHC at this moment in history. After years of serving children and families, I have seen the difference dedicated individuals can have on both a young person’s life, as well as the enrichment of a community. Every day at CHC, hundreds of clinicians, teachers and staff work to better the future for each of our young clients. This collective commitment brings me hope and excitement that we can make a lasting impact and ensure that no family goes without the care they need.

This past fiscal year is a clear indication that with the support of our community we can accomplish so much. Our numbers of families served through our schools, clinics and community programming rose to over 15,000. Our financial assistance and student scholarships reached $1.5M, delivering on our promise to equity and access to care.

2021-2022 was truly a year of major milestones, underscoring our sustained commitment to excellence. We celebrated ten years at CHC’s Sand Hill School, serving students with learning differences, preparing them for greater opportunity and success beyond our doors. Our RISE Intensive Outpatient program turned five, serving our local community so that teens can find greater hope and wellness. In the fall, we ushered in the inaugural year of CHC’s Schwab Learning Center, serving young adults with learning differences at Stanford and around our community. And, in the summer, CHC’s leadership and board chose to honor our longtime board member, Catherine Harvey, by naming the clinical services department, the Catherine T. Harvey Center for Clinical Services.

As we approach the celebration of CHC’s 70th anniversary year in mid-2023, we remain a beacon of hope for the families we serve. Our community desperately needs the programs we offer at CHC, and our ability to respond to this demand is only possible through the generosity of individuals like you.

Thank you for your support and trust in CHC. I look forward to meeting this dramatic need together with you as we build a better future for our community and for our next generation.

With appreciation,

Dr. Ryan C. Eisenberg
CEO of Children’s Health Council
