Project UROK was founded in 2014 by writer and comedian Jenny Jaffe (Disney, MTV, VH1) to combat the isolation and stigmatization surrounding mental illness. Project UROK’s mission is to create funny, meaningful videos for teenagers struggling with mental health issues, made by people who have been there before.
Project UROK’s goals are to:
- De-stigmatize mental illness
- Combat isolation
- Create an online community
- Reduce teen suicide
Project UROK encourages teens to make their own videos and share their own stories! In doing so, we will provide not only practical assistance, but also a sense of belonging, a sense of comfort, and a sense of hope.
