John Montgomery

Social Studies/Advisory Middle School Teacher

John Montgomery

As a child diagnosed with ADHD and Dyslexia, a school was the last place John Montgomery ever thought he would work! But teaching is not a job, it is a relentless passion to see change, to imagine the classes you wished you had attended and then building them. After teaching ESL in Japan for 2 years, John moved to the Bay area. For the last 11 years he has taught students, like himself, that learn differently at Stanbridge Academy in San Mateo, and Sterne School in San Francisco. He has also taught Middle School history for Summit Public Schools. Outside of the classroom John can usually be found gardening, spending time with his dogs, or taking care of his chickens.
