Christie Saccomanno Ewert

Christie is excited to join the teaching staff at Sand Hill School. Before coming to Sand Hill, Christie was teaching early education in the East Bay. Christie received a dual Bachelors from California State University, Sacramento in child development pre-credential and history. She is currently pursuing her masters in child development from California State University, Sacramento. Her thesis topic is social emotional learning in the classroom. She believes in a strength based learning approach which is demonstrated in her teaching practices.

She brings years of experience working with students with learning differences. In high school and college, Christie ran chapters of Eye to Eye, National (a one to one peer mentoring program for students with learning differences and ADHD–using art to create conversations). Students learned classroom and personal coping strategies as well as fostering self-efficacy skills through metacognition. She also facilitated the Sacramento Student Advisors For Education (SAFE) program for high school students with LD/ADHD.
