A Message from Our CEO
Looking back at the past 70 years, I am in awe of the dedicated group of individuals who collectively laid the groundwork for what CHC is today. Today, the vision of our founder, Esther B. Clark, MD, has not wavered, addressing our community’s needs in innovative ways and promising a brighter future for a younger generation. Through philanthropic and community support in the 2022-2023 fiscal year, I am pleased to report that CHC made extraordinary strides in the areas of equity and access, excellence in evidence-based care, and community partnerships.
CHC is driven to widen access to specialized support and services. We are proud that our Catherine T. Harvey Center for Clinical Services provided nearly $900,000 in financial aid to help families access care. 80% of the students at Schwab Learning Center (SLC) at CHC received financial aid, and 35% of students at Sand Hill School received $25,000 or more in scholarships.
Professional expertise, demonstrated through high quality evidence-based care, is a pillar of our values and how we approach our work, requiring an investment in the development of future professionals. In addition to our existing offerings of doctoral and postdoctoral programs, we witnessed our first cohort of trainees through our new Ravenswood Wellness Partnership Training Consortium, bringing more culturally-informed psychologists into the field.
CHC continues to be agile and respond to community needs with a widened reach of SLC to serve high school students with learning differences and ADHD. We also launched affordable short-term therapy options for young adults, ages 18-25.
When local school district partners expressed concern on troubling trends on their campuses, CHC stepped in, providing tailored professional development for schools, and workshops for families within those schools. As a result, 200+ learning specialists and counselors from Palo Alto, Menlo Park City, Los Altos and Ravenswood school districts convened quarterly to share best practices.
We are honored and eager to be doing this important work. The young people, families, schools, and communities that we serve are deeply grateful for your support. Thank you for your commitment to and trust in CHC.
With much appreciation,
Dr. Ryan C. Eisenberg
